Meet the Chef
Chef Val Hesse made New Orleans her home after years of travel with her Navy family. While attending Delgado Community College’s Culinary Arts program, she decided to specialize in catering. She has cooked for both President George W Bush at a fundraiser in New Orleans and inmates at Angola, The Louisiana State Penitentiary while on a movie set.
Since 2018, Chef Val has been the owner of her own catering and event company. She loves being able to share the foodways of New Orleans through private dinners with guests from around the world. In addition to cooking for guests here in town, she has a line of salt-free, sugar-free seasoning blends, produces the annual Summertime Marketplace, and has been teaching culinary arts classes for both kids and adults in the metro New Orleans area.
